BECKIE

Pastel 10"x12"

An incredibly joyful picture of Beckie, a Great Dane, with her head swinging around, tongue flying.   She was loved and adored - who could resist her?

EMMA?

COLOR PENCIL  12"x10"

Drawn from photo while sitting wi Mum in hospital, that's not an excuse it just explains how portable color pencil is.

Janine, I know Emma hates to be photographed but she obviously hexed your camera so photo of her reeeeelly hard to see and yet the pose is such fun I decided to risk it.   MAYBE maybe I caught a flicker of the soul in your best beloved.   Hope so!

Jenny's Dabs

Pastel

This was posted a while ago...I was (finally) about to put it away.

Then I noticed Jenny had added her unique "dabs".  Such a clever girl.
So she takes pride of post today.

This is her proving how good she is.

Who's the "COWard"?

Sarah and I were, they were standing in our path and that blank stare is so UNREADABLE!    Don't think we were being silly, cows can be lethally aggressive.

We were trying to reach the birdwatchers' viewing stand (actually a luxurious building with huge windows) which you can vaguely see over cow's horn above and below.

Cows won, we walked a large circle around them - which meant climbing down the bank to path on right.
The cow with the crumpled horn kept guard...

We watched birds for well over an hour, which amazed even us, I mean watching birds for so long.   Most fascinating was the hawk, a harrier I think, which swooped and braked right in front of the window, a WOW moment, then he/the hawk was harassed and mobbed by crows as he tried to pick off one of the hundreds of ducks.   It was, after all, a bird (and cow) sanctuary.

UTAH

Pastel 5"x5"

Utah has been here before.   This was done fast - as you can probably tell!  She's a husky and was staring at a small speck in the snow.  The arch of her neck is very fetching.
