JAZZ

Pastel 8"x10"

BECKIE

Pastel 10"x12"

An incredibly joyful picture of Beckie, a Great Dane, with her head swinging around, tongue flying.   She was loved and adored - who could resist her?

EMMA?

COLOR PENCIL  12"x10"

Drawn from photo while sitting wi Mum in hospital, that's not an excuse it just explains how portable color pencil is.

Janine, I know Emma hates to be photographed but she obviously hexed your camera so photo of her reeeeelly hard to see and yet the pose is such fun I decided to risk it.   MAYBE maybe I caught a flicker of the soul in your best beloved.   Hope so!

Jenny's Dabs

Pastel

This was posted a while ago...I was (finally) about to put it away.

Then I noticed Jenny had added her unique "dabs".  Such a clever girl.
So she takes pride of post today.

This is her proving how good she is.

Who's the "COWard"?

Sarah and I were, they were standing in our path and that blank stare is so UNREADABLE!    Don't think we were being silly, cows can be lethally aggressive.

We were trying to reach the birdwatchers' viewing stand (actually a luxurious building with huge windows) which you can vaguely see over cow's horn above and below.

Cows won, we walked a large circle around them - which meant climbing down the bank to path on right.
The cow with the crumpled horn kept guard...

We watched birds for well over an hour, which amazed even us, I mean watching birds for so long.   Most fascinating was the hawk, a harrier I think, which swooped and braked right in front of the window, a WOW moment, then he/the hawk was harassed and mobbed by crows as he tried to pick off one of the hundreds of ducks.   It was, after all, a bird (and cow) sanctuary.

UTAH

Pastel 5"x5"

Utah has been here before.   This was done fast - as you can probably tell!  She's a husky and was staring at a small speck in the snow.  The arch of her neck is very fetching.

Jenny: Birdseye View

Color Pencil 12"x14"

She has a special cushion behind the computer; she likes to sleep on it wedged into a corner, just like this.   An exercise in perspective, I guess.  As you can see, she has LONG legs!

I spent more time doing the cushion (obviously!) than I did on Jen.   Color pencil has one huge advantage:  I can do it while watching the box!

A Red Pomeranian.
Rescue Dog now "out" of the public shelter.  Sweet little face!    Charleston is his "real" name.

UNBEARABLE RUBBISH

Today's Excuse - finished a commission which I'll post later
These two images were illustrations for a bit of "unbearable" doggerel.  ouch

Would you care for a bear?
We've all sorts of colors -
Purple, Yellow, or Blue
Geenish or pink, just choose a hue
Since there isn't a color that we can't do!
Best of all - there's NO FEE!
Our bears go to you ONE HUNDRED PERCENT FREE!

Whatever the color you choose for their fur
They're guaranteed friendly and never go GRR.
How BIG should your bear be?  No surprise
We suggest that you order
     THE EXTREMELY LARGE SIZE!
Coz the bigger the bear
The more fun you can share!

Parents, of course, may kick up a fuss,
"You CAN'T have a pet that is bigger than US!"
Oh, they'll rant and they'll rave.
Don't give in, just be brave!
Do not howl, do not scowl,
Just be sweet, use your guile,
And give them an extra sweet smile,
As you ever so innocently say
"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry, but my Extra Large Bear was delivered  - TODAY!"

DOODLE perhaps a POODLE

Color Pencil 8"x10"

Honest, a 'doodle'.   Done yesterday while waiting for 'the guys' to show up to bleed rads.    I'm not posting original but it's quite as daffy as this...and the pink tongue sticks out of a black shadow.

Ah well, she IS a star.
For those of you NOT in Montreal note we had a lot of snow...but not as much as DEPEW (near Buffalo) which got FORTY-TWO INCHES!

Again, a day gone and nada!

This serendipitous pair of pix I still find exceptionally funny.
I'm sure there's a better caption for the second one where she's looking so SHOCKED!      Do let me know if you've got something brilliant in your mind.

REASON for nothing again is...heat in my mother's apt building has been out since Friday...and it's cold, snow all day and very windy tonight.   If I'm not at her place she may turn off heaters (!) and she's real sensitive to cold now.  So was appropriate to be there to make sure heaters kept going.   Am HOPING broken pipe(s) fixed tonight - met plumber as I was leaving just now and looks hopeful, no promises.

Who knows, maybe I'll be back to normal (whatever that is) tomorrow.

"Carpet Killer" JENNY & More

PASTEL 16"x24"

LARGE - and it's very simplicity took as long (longer) than a more detailed sketch...so don't be deceived!   I had to practice the swoop of the lines and outline several times before I went into this one.  I did black outlines with permanent marker SO WHATEVER WENT DOWN WAS THERE FOREVER!

Jenny (obviously) rolling around on - and ripping up - the carpet.  She does it with such gusto it's hard not to laugh.  Our carpets (TG) are surprisingly resilient and despite this frequent abuse show no damage!   Motto is:  buy cheap carpets!  They're TOUGH.

Asleep at the Controls

Pastel 12"x8"

Jenny - again.   A favorite sleeping spot:  warm, humming and the colors coordinate so nicely...  Also close to the printer - a fascinating machine.   Must be closely watched and poked to see what's inside.   But that's another story.

Enjoy!
